Part of the foundation of the Tafton Fire Company was weakened, late in October, 2006 with the death of Life Member, Lynn Updegrove. Lynn climbed up, over the ladder and into a new era, leaving his family; wife Kris and son Matthew, and The Tafton Fire Company, behind with only memories of his many, many talents, love, deeds and accomplishments.
Lynn was skilled in handling every piece of apparatus and tool the company possessed. He also took pride in teaching many members how to operate and safeguard the equipment, as well as, on scene knowledge and skills during emergencies. At the time of Lynn's death, he was Captain of the Fire Police. Lynn can best be remembered for his many hours of cooking and food preparation for all company outings and celebration affairs which are too many to count. His loud, jovial laugh and stories will be missed by all.
"May God be with you Lynn", you are sorely missed and will be infinitely remembered.
